Whether for the purpose of attack or unsophisticated transportation, the ability to actuate something everywhere long distance has been full of life to the growth and growing of civilization. During the Middle Ages, before the cannons were invented, the most green and popular mood to shoot a projectile was the trebuchet. However, over the course of the years trebuchets have lost their popularity. We decided to obtain it back! The over both goal for this project is to build a trebuchet in order to rescue our very induce Gryphy, the school mascot. We brief our base by almost a half so that the axle was much shorter. This way the exerted pressure wasnt entirely on the axle but was also on the straight supports. Also, the tension wouldnt be as much. As I look at our trebuchet I can hypothesise that this is one of its strengths as this prevents any damages from occurring.
